GROUP THERAPY

What is Group Therapy?

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. This type of therapy is widely available at a variety of locations such as private practice, hospitals, mental health clinics and community centres.

Group therapy is sometimes used alone although is commonly integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan, which also includes individual therapy and/or medication.

Groups can be as small as five people although usually involves around ten to twelve people.

The group typically meets on a weekly basis spanning across a ten week period with fixed dates and times.
